Artillery has often been called the king of the battlefied. Throughout history, these powerful weapons have covered a wide range of stationary, towed, and self-propelled guns. With the ability to deliver tremendous destructive power from a distance, with little or no warning, artillery has always been one of the most feared sets of weapons fielded by any army. Without the ability to see their targets, artillerymen rely on spotters, forward observers, and aircraft to help them get the round to the target.
